The objective of this project is to create an "age friendly plan" that considers how we can improve accessibility and inclusion for aging and mobility challenged community members and people with disabilities. Specific objectives include:
- Complete an age-friendly community plan based on a community survey, consultation, and interviews,
- Recommendations will address: transportation; the accessibility of North Pender infrastructure; adequate housing for seniors; seniors health services, and social inclusion/civic engagement,
- Update the Official Community Plan & Land Use Bylaw to support an accessible built environment, transportation, housing, and services,
- Create partnerships to implement the age friendly community plan.
