Land Use Bylaw No. 355 Project Overview
One of the priorities of the Salt Spring Island Local Trust Committee is to implement key policies of the Official Community Plan by updating Land Use Bylaw No. 355 (LUB) for the following:
Project Scope
Since adoption of the Salt Spring Island Official Community Plan (OCP) in 2008, the Local Trust Committee (LTC) has identified several key policy areas as priorities for implemention and action. A process has been initiated to update the zoning in Land Use Bylaw No. 355 (LUB) for the following:
- secondary suites
- seasonal cottages (year-round occupancy)
- farmworker housing
- agricultural provisions
- industrial land uses
The LUB update process will build upon the results of previous initiatives including:
- Area Farm Plan (2008)
- Industrial Needs Assessment (2009)
- Affordable Housing Strategy (ongoing)
