Islands Forum: 2005 - Hopes and Concerns

Forum Outcomes

In Session 1 of the Islands Forum in 2005 participants were asked to identify their main hopes and concerns for the future of the Islands Trust Area. They then voted for those issues that they felt were most important. Session 2 of the forum was spent discussing options and solutions for these issues.

The 2005 Islands Forum was held on Saturday, February 26, 2005 in Nanaimo, with approximately 150 participants.

At its meeting in March 2005, the Islands Trust Council requested staff to recommend actions it could take to respond to the information received at Islands Forum 2005. At its meeting in June 2005, the Islands Trust Council adopted a forum follow-up strategy.
